Obtaining droplets and particles size

The droplet size distribution of an emulsion is related to the interfacial and bulk rheological properties of the phases. Its determination is essential for production control processes, pump sizing, transportation, spraying, among others.

Likewise, particle size determination is critical to product design and quality control.

GReo has infrastructure to evaluate the dimensions of droplets and particles through optical and electronic microscopy analysis. In addition, we have a Turbiscan stability analyzer for quantitative assessment of the stability of concentrated dispersions (emulsions, suspensions and foams).

The final product of this service is a report including a description of the method used, a graph and/or table of the droplet or particle size distribution and a technical analysis.

Infrastructure: Polarized optical microscope with shear module and temperature control; Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with cryogenic system for analysis of fluid samples; Turbiscan stability analyzer; microscopes coupled to rheometers.
